Canadian Athlete Insurance Programme (CAIP)

In order to subsidize the various sports-medicine needs of athletes, we are now offering Bronze coverage from the Canadian Athlete Insurance Program (CAIP) to carded athletes and Excellence athletes identified by INS Québec.

Athletes can have a higher coverage level than Bronze, namely Silver or Gold, at an additional cost.

Athletes can consult any accredited medical service provider anywhere in Canada. Athletes must pay the service provider directly for each medical consultation and will be reimbursed by the insurance company. It is the athlete’s responsibility to take the various steps of making a claim with the insurer. For a better understanding of how to be reimbursed, see the insurance user guide below

IMPORTANT : The athletes will be reimbursed $50/treatment for all types of treatments.

Subscribe to the insurance offered to individual athletes

In order to obtain PAAC insurance, you must register on the Athéna athletes portal by filling out the INS Québec admission form. On the first page of the form, to the question “You are an individual athlete wishing to subscribe to the insurance for athletes”, you must answer YES.

You will not be able to choose YES if you mentioned being in a training group. This is an exclusive service for individual athletes.
