$125 000 donated to INS Québec Excellence Fund
$125,000 DONATED TO INS QUÉBEC’S EXCELLENCE FUND TO SUPPORT PREPARATION FOR THE OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES
Montréal, November 14, 2019 — Once again, high-performance and next-generation athletes associated with the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) have benefitted from the generosity of the business community, with a donation of $125,000 to INS Québec’s Excellence Fund following two fundraising events. The announcement was made on Wednesday evening (November 13), in front of more than 150 business people and members of the sporting community who were attending the institute’s fourth benefit event at the Cabaret du Casino in Montréal.
“At INS Québec, we want to be at the source of Québec performance. Our goal is to work tirelessly to help our athletes achieve their Olympic and Paralympic dreams,” said Tom Quinn, President of the INS Québec Board of Directors. “This contribution to our Excellence Fund will be used to support our athletes in preparing for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It means we can help them get closer to their ultimate goal by putting the knowledge and skills of our experts at their disposal. We want to be the ingenuity behind the performance.”
The INS Québec Excellence Fund aims to support high-performance and next-generation athletes in their development and preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Constantly striving for innovation, the Fund contributes to the financing packages needed for activities such as implementing new research projects, purchasing specialized or new-generation equipment, developing expert knowledge or circulating scientific and sports-medicine educational materials.
The $125,000 contribution to the INS Québec Excellence Fund was unveiled in the presence of Gaëtan Robitaille, President and CEO of INS Québec (far left) and Tom Quinn, Chairman of the Board (far right) by the athletes who attended the evening: Pascal Dion (short track speed skating), Meaghan Benfeito (diving), Joelle Bekhazi (water polo), Charles Hamelin (short track speed skating), Lex Albrecht (cycling), Sarah Milette (trampoline), Charlie Bilodeau (figure skating), Jacqueline Simoneau (artistic swimming)
