INS QUÉBEC RAISES $157,000 AT THE MILANO-CORTINA APERITIVO EVENT
With less than a year to go until the Milan-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) held its Aperitivo Milano-Cortina benefit event on Tuesday. Bringing together more than 350 people, mainly from the business community, the event generated a total profit of $157,000. More than 25 active or retired high-performance athletes took part in the event, demonstrating the tangible impact of INS Québec on their careers.
The funds raised will go directly to supporting the support services offered by INS Québec to Olympic and Paralympic athletes, as well as to the expansion of the first interdisciplinary concussion clinic in Québec specializing sports-related concussions.
“This event marks an important step in our mission to make a real difference in the preparation, health and development of our athletes,” said Marc Desjardins, President and CEO of INS Québec. ”Thanks to the generosity of the participants, we will be able to continue to support athletes and high-performance training groups at a critical point in the Olympic cycle. We will also be able to begin expanding our interdisciplinary concussion clinic, which is already a leader in the country.”
Presented by TELUS Health as the Chef de Mission partner in collaboration with New Air Refrigeration, the Aperitivo Milano-Cortina benefited from the support of numerous partners and donors who actively contributed to the mobilization around the event.
“At TELUS Health, we are convinced that mental and physical health are intrinsically linked,” emphasizes Nadège Goose, Vice-President, Customer Success. ”These principles apply as much to the world of sport as to the world of work, where a holistic approach to well-being promotes fulfillment, performance and pushing one’s limits. That is why we are committed to supporting the well-being and health of athletes and all those we support on a daily basis. A huge thank you to INS Québec for this remarkable initiative and to the athletes and speakers who made this gathering even more inspiring.
The Circle of Governors
To contribute to the success of the Milano-Cortina Aperitivo, INS Québec was able to count on the commitment of a Circle of Governors made up of thirteen business leaders: Sylvain Beauchamp (NDSL Immobilier inc.), Patrick Boivin (Bearmind), Nicola Courtemanche (Essilor Luxottica Canada), Jean-Philippe Gagnon (Innovitech), Nadège Gousse (TELUS Health), André Lachance (Cirque du Soleil), Benoit Lavigne (Greenshield), Nadia Moretto (philanthropy consultant), Louis-Philippe Neveu (TVA Sports), André G. Plourde (Colliers International, Quebec), Paul Wilson (NATIONAL Public Relations), as well as the members of the board of directors of the Institut Jean R. Dupré (Chairperson) and Michel Laramée.
INS Québec would like to thank all the individuals and organizations who supported this initiative by purchasing tickets or tables, participating in the online auction or making donations. This collective success will make it possible to strengthen the support offered to the athletes of today and tomorrow, in terms of both performance and health.
